Yes, that's right - your companion gives you gifts every day, called Drops! Drops are used for a variety of crafting recipes, such as for the Ghoulish Quiche or BOO-berry Cheesecake, or in Ganoderma's fetch quest, Willow's Best Friend.
However, in order to maintain the flow of drops, you got to remember to feed your companions. Keep in mind, only linked companions can give gifts and be fed.
Each companion has their own set of item drops depending on their species, which can be found below:
- Puptuals - Stick
- Snowares - Cotton Tuff
- Flamakes - Sparkly Scale
- Murchins - Seashell
- Cobaroos - Tiny Beads
- Fydear - Glowing Moss
Companion Hunger
Your companion gives a boost of drops if they have a full tummy! You can feed your companions by giving them items to eat, like Chow Chow.
If your companion's hunger is 3 or under, they have a chance of returning nothing! Please treat your little guy with care.
Enjoyment Yields
Keep in mind you may only feed your companion one type of food item a day!
Furthermore, not every item's hunger is public knowledge. Some pets may be pickier than others regarding a certain food item. However, once ANYONE has fed a pet a particular food, the hunger value will be public; it's a community effort to discover what each companion species likes or dislikes! Said likes and dislikes will then hinder or help how much hunger a food gives.
Companion Levels
Your companion also has levels, which are gained by going on adventures with them! Each prompt submission that showcases a Willow and Companion linked together will count towards their level!
Any user submission counts, not just the owner's!
As a reward, higher levels will increase the drops your companion gives!
Companion Drops
Drops can be collected daily, and the number of drops will correspond to a companion's level and hunger level. Companions do NOT like going out while hungry.
- Only 15 drops can stack (15 days) and all drops will be collected at once when going to collect them.
- Your companion will lose a random number of hunger after foraging for daily drops.
Dissolving a Connection
Dissolving a connection will reset the companion's level, but not remove the submissions. Adding a different Willow to the companion will take from the new Willow.
