General Overview

Arroyos fill the skies of Willanova! Most Arroyos live in the The Canopies of the Mangrove's City of Sweetbay, right on their tree tops. Arroyo Willows tend to be seen as the moody ones since they're the most naturally territorial Willow species that lives near Sulow Grove.

Anatomy

Arroyos are the most flexible out of most of the Willows that live in Willanova. They can turn their head completely 180 degrees, similar to owls. Freaky, huh? They're also the only Willow subspecies to naturally grow feathers from head to tail.

Arroyos have a unique feature of clusters of feathers and fur on their forearms; these are their "wings", which aid in gliding down the treetops and picking up momentum by flapping their arms in the breeze. That can be quite embarrassing to an unsuspecting guest though, so some - if not most - have taken up using additional magic to help them fly.

Common Culture/Activities

Territory

Arroyos mostly group inside The Canopies, right above the waters of Sweetbay. Years and years before, it was rumored they were removed from their once numerous homes on the land, to the trees up, above away from Mangrove Willows who took over. Over the years, they have been searching for inner-species peace following said events.

The trees of the Canopies consist of special-shaped, spiral trees, named Renaissance Trees, which legends says are the ancestors of deceased Arroyo Willows. 

The Arts

Arroyo Willow's main form of art can be seen as graffiti, usually accompanied by bright visuals and large murals. It's commonplace to paint the outside of your home with environment safe paints to just make the whole place look pretty!

Fashion in Flying

Arroyo Willow's usual form of transportation are gliding and flying. Without it, it'd be hard to navigate around the Canopies! Arroyo Willows are the only Willows who can really fly long distances, so they sometimes craft up their own drapes or scarves that line the sky as they fly!

Relationship with Other Willows

Arroyos most positive relationship is with Mangrove Willows, which is putting that lightly. Sharing their territory over the years with the fishfolk has been a struggle to say the least, but over the past couple of years, they managed to mend themselves into a trade relationship as long as they left their respective places relatively alone.

Arroyos also enjoy the company of Siberians as a whole, as their soft exteriors and cool, high housing at Blissful Mountain is like a second home to them! 

Parcel Express

Parcel Express is the only way Arroyo Willows can get their mail, and the Canopies are nothing short of boastful for being one-half of the operation! Most air-borne parcels are housed right at home!

Related Events/Trivia

• Some Arroyo's are so protective of their young, their children haven't seen the ground at all.
• No major events have taken place in the The Canopies thus far.
